How to Evaluate Free AI Stock Analysis Tools in India
Last content review: 15 October 2026
A free AI tool can summarize a screenshot or explain a financial concept, but price accuracy, privacy and reasoning quality vary. “AI-powered” is not a safety label. Use the same test on any provider, including this site, before relying on a response about your holdings.
Test 1: Did it read the image correctly?
Use a screenshot whose symbols and quantities you already know. Compare every extracted row with the broker statement. A model may swap similar tickers, lose a decimal place or omit a line cut off at the edge. If the tool does not let you inspect the extracted data, its final score is difficult to audit.
Test 2: Where did the price come from?
A screenshot may show a price at the time it was captured. An AI response may instead estimate a current price from incomplete knowledge. Neither is a substitute for a timestamped exchange or broker quote. Calculate an illustrative weight from verified current values: ₹30,000 in one stock divided by a ₹1,00,000 portfolio equals 30%. If the tool uses an outdated ₹25,000 value, its 25% weight understates that concentration.
Test 3: Can you check its reasoning?
A useful response should say which visible facts support a claim and where uncertainty remains. “High risk” without a concentration calculation, time horizon or source is only a model opinion. SEBI recommends considering goals, risk capacity and diversification; an image cannot establish all of these. Ask which inputs are missing before accepting a score.
Test 4: What happens to your data?
Check whether the tool needs your broker login, whether it sends images to another AI provider, and whether it stores results on a server or in your browser. Crop account numbers, names and unrelated notifications from an image. This site sends screenshots to a processing service and AI provider, does not intentionally write them to its own database, and may save score history locally in your browser. Its Privacy Policy explains the details.
Test 5: Does it promise certainty or a trade?
Reject claims of assured daily income, perfect predictions or guaranteed profit. SEBI warns investors about assured-return pitches. An AI label such as BUY or SELL can sound decisive even when the model has not seen your full finances, the latest filing or a current quote. Treat it as a question for independent research, not an order.
A practical comparison worksheet
- Input accuracy: number of holdings read correctly out of those visible.
- Quote evidence: source and timestamp shown, or price explicitly marked estimated.
- Risk explanation: concentration calculation and assumptions visible.
- Privacy: provider, storage and deletion terms stated plainly.
- Commercial terms: any paid upgrade, affiliate link or sponsored recommendation disclosed.
Keep the original statement and the model response side by side when you test a tool. If a system cannot make its inputs and limitations clear, a polished answer is not enough reason to rely on it. Use primary filings, fund documents and broker statements for the facts; use AI to help formulate questions.
