The gainers and losers lists sort available stocks by their percentage move versus the previous close. A large one-day move does not tell you whether the business is attractive or whether the price will keep moving. Earnings, news, liquidity and broad market moves can all matter. Use the list to find a question to research, not as a buy list.
How the percentage change works
If a share closed at ₹100 in the previous session and the available quote is ₹103, the displayed change is (103 − 100) ÷ 100 × 100 = 3%. If the quote falls to ₹97, it is −3%. The same percentage tells you nothing about valuation, the size of a trading spread, or whether a company announcement explains the move.
Momentum signals on this page are rule-based labels (e.g. strong up move vs mild drift). They are not recommendations. Before acting, read the company's latest results, check valuation versus peers, and decide position size using our portfolio risk guide.
During bearish Nifty days, many stocks fall together — losers may be quality names temporarily marked down. During bullish days, avoid chasing extended gainers without a plan. Paper trade ideas on our simulator before using real money.
What to check before making a decision
Confirm the symbol and current quote with your broker or the exchange, read any recent company filing, compare the move with its sector and index, and check how a new position would affect concentration. On a market holiday or outside trading hours, the last available quote may reflect an earlier session. An unavailable feed should not be interpreted as zero movement.
