Questions to explore
Your entered reserve covers 3 months of essential expenses. Six months is this model’s comparison point; the difference is ₹1,20,000. Your actual need depends on income stability and dependants.
You enter a 20% savings rate and EMIs of 20% of take-home income. Check what remains for essentials and unexpected costs before increasing a payment or investment.
Review health insurance and, if anyone depends on your income, term life cover separately. Neither is measured by this score.
How this illustration works
The model converts three entries to 0–100 component values. Emergency savings reaches 100 at six months of essential expenses. Savings reaches 100 at 30% of take-home income. The EMI component starts at 100 with no EMIs and falls to zero at an EMI share of 40% or more. The final number weights these components 40%, 30% and 30%. These reference points are choices for this exercise, not safe limits or financial advice.
With your current entries, 3 months of reserves maps to 50 points, a 20% savings rate maps to 67, and a 20% EMI share maps to 50. Applying the weights gives 55/100. For a separate cash example, ₹40,000 of monthly essential expenses multiplied by six months is ₹2,40,000; the right reserve for your circumstances could differ.
A single number cannot assess interest rates on debt, job security, dependants, medical costs, policy terms or investment risk. Health insurance covers eligible treatment costs under its terms; term life pays a death benefit under different terms. This calculator does not store your inputs and is not a credit score, financial plan or investment recommendation.
